USHA COLLEGIATE RECRUITMENT GRANT
About: The Collegiate Recruitment Grant is being offered as a one-time grant (up to $500) to assist existing U.S. collegiate handball programs rebuild following the lapse/disruption in play over the past year.
The grant is to be used for any expenses related to recruitment and growth of the collegiate program within the 2021-2022 academic year. Possible expenses could include but are not limited to:
-Costs associated with holding a recruitment ‘play day’ on the program’s campus to attract new players
-Costs associated with sending players to another school or nearby city with players for an organized ‘play day’
-Costs associated with university advertising (flyers, print ads, posters, electronic bulletins, club/sports day booth, etc.)
Note: the Collegiate Recruitment Grant is not intended to be used for expenses related to tournament travel and tournament attendance. Rather, the intent is to support programs in recruitment efforts at or near the start of the program’s handball season. For financial assistance with regards to tournament travel and attendance, please refer to the Wafe Risner Travel Grant on the USHA website.
The total amount (up to $500) awarded to each program will be determined based on the strength of the program’s application and the amount of its estimated expenses that are justifiable towards recruitment.
