All health test samples/certificates must be taken/dated within 30 days of the mare's arrival at stud.

Stud Terms

Our aim is to breed top class performance stock. Mares with poor conformation or known hereditary diseases may not be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse any mare arriving in poor condition or deemed unfit for breeding.

Nomination Form must be returned along with health certificates and £100 deposit (deducted from stud fee later) and your mare is then booked in whether it be for live covering or receiving chilled semen.

SWABS
All mares without foal at foot must have a veterinary certificate stating that the mare has been swab-tested and is free from CEM and EVA and is fit for breeding, prior to arrival.

MARES
Whilst with us, mares will receive every possible care, attention and supervision, but no responsibility or liability can be taken for any accident, damage, injury, illness, disease or loss to any horse or person.  We reserve the right to consult a veterinary surgeon in the event of an emergency, accident or illness, at the owner’s expense without notification to the owner. All mares are served at their owner’s risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying or serving any mare, any problem mares will be twitched or sedated. We advise that broodmares are insured by owner.

KEEP OF MARES
Visiting mares will have the benefit of pasture available and may be stabled, if required. We have the right to feed or stable any horse as we consider most beneficial to the care of the horse and / or foal and the owners will be charged accordingly. Livery is charged at £20 per day.

SHOES
All mares are to have been recently attended by the Farrier and to have all shoes removed.

WORMING
All mares must be wormed 1 week before arrival . They will then be wormed every 8 weeks hereafter. Owners will be charged at cost.

STUD FEES
A deposit of £100 (done at time of booking) must be left with the mare when she arrives along with her CEM / EVA certificates and passport. A stud contract will also need to be signed if not already done (usually done at time of booking). The Balance of Stud fees are due at time of service, but must be paid together with keep fees on collection of mare.

Visiting mares and / or foals may not be removed until all fees have been paid. In the event of the stud giving notice for removal of any horse and that horse is not removed, or fees are not paid, then the Stud shall be entitled to sell the horse/s and out of the proceeds of sale defray the costs of the fees and for the period between the giving of notice and the sale, and the owner hereby appoints the Stud its agents for the purpose of the sale.

SCANNING
We aim to scan at approx 16 days after last day of covering for pregnancy. Scans are charged at £45. We scan in stocks for safety but sometimes mares need to be sedated, this will be charged extra at cost. Once mares are scanned in foal they are ready to go home, unless you require a 30 day heart beat scan.

STUD TERMS
The stud fee entitles your mare to covering over one season with a free return for a further two seasons (3 attempts if you like). These can either be done in the same year or roll over to the next should the time be getting late in the season.

COVER CERTIFICATES
Are posted out September / October of the year of covering so it is imperative we know if your mare is pregnant and requires a cert, should she have left prior to scanning at the stud. Once a cover certificate is done it will prevent your entitlement to any further free returns.

FOR MARES OWNERS RECEIVING CHILLED SEMEN
SWABS
All mares without foal at foot are advised to have a veterinary certificate stating that the mare has been swab-tested and is free from CEM / EVA and is fit for breeding, prior to ordering Semen, this saves time and money for everyone.

STUD FEES
A deposit of £100 should be sent with this nomination form. It is vitally important that you keep us informed as to when your mare is due into season and when you require semen. The stud fee must be paid in full before semen is ordered. Advise us when you are scanning your mare and where she is in her cycle. The more we know the more we can prepare this end to get a mare in season ready for collection. We collect the morning before the day you require the semen and then post Special delivery next day before 1pm to your requested address (usually your vets). The Equitainer must not be opened until you are ready to inseminate. Once inseminated RETURN THE EQUITAINER IMMEDIATELY please.

STUD TERMS
The stud fee entitles your mare to 2 full tubes of chilled semen for her first season, despatched once you have advised when you need it. Please be advised we need (preferably) 48 hours notice to get the semen to you. If your mare does not catch from this first delivery of semen, you are then entitled to a free return for a further two seasons (3 attempts if you like). However there is a fee of £100 (payable prior to ordering) per free return as this is what it costs us to collect and dispatch the semen to you. The free returns can either be done in the same year or roll over to the next should the time be getting late in the season.

RETURNS
It is imperative that the Equitainer which the semen is sent in is returned the same day on a special delivery next day service to us. This avoids disappointment for any other customers requiring semen. This cost is to be paid by you.

COVER CERTIFICATES
Are posted out September / October of the year of covering so it is imperative we know if your mare is pregnant and requires a cert. Once a cover certificate is done it will prevent your entitlement to any further free returns.
