HerstoryThe Centre came to be in 1974 as an offshoot of the Yukon Status of Women Council. Many women in the community were frustrated with the lack of community resources available, so they came together to form what has become a unique and special pace for women of the Yukon. The Centre became a Registered Society on September 16, 1976 and has been in operation ever since.
Vision The Women's Centre strives towards the day when women walk in safety, live healthy lives, excel in leadership roles and are supported and empowered to fulfill their dreams.
Mission Statement The Women's Centre is a Safe and respectful space where women can connect with one another, access support and services, and work together to create positive change for women in the community.
We are committed to promoting women's equality and well-being. We do so by raising awareness, educating, networking and collaborating with Yukon Government and Non-Government Organizations.
