We are nestled among rows of middle-class residential terrace houses in the suburb USJ11 Subang Jaya. Kevin & Elaine are both corporate quitters and growth-oriented creative souls who started The Hatchery Place in February 2016, at first to escape the cubicle world to build their passion careers. Now, the house has evolved into an inspiring little community where location-independent creative souls share and exchange their skills, cultures, and experiences with each other.

With the amazing help of volunteers, The Hatchery Place has become not just a working space. It is now a platform that meets the requirements of traveling creative nomads and art makers and expands their opportunities. In a mixture of relaxed suburb home living atmosphere and concentrated working environment, we create room between work and privacy in which innovation and creativity of travelers can foster, as they cowork together with the local neighborhood creativepreneurs here.

During the day, the space is a shared creative coworking space and at night, turns into a shared coliving space. A cozy, fun, homey, and creative workspace and heart-centered friendship incubator for our travelers, writers, bloggers, vloggers, nomads, crafters, creators, makers, musicians, artists, artisans, designers, poets, philosophers, meditators, educators, yogis, vegans, tree-huggers, lightworkers, truthseekers, freedom-lovers and anyone else interested in stretching the boundaries of themselves to include trusting strangers. On the weekends, workshops and events are run to cultivate a creative co-learning lifestyle in the community.

Kevin & Elaine are very hands-on hosts who integrate themselves closely with the coliving community. We are in the house very regularly to tend to the residents, the community, the garden, and plan events. Together with our local community events host Ai Jou, we run small meetups, art & craft events, workshops, healing circles, food and drink tastings, talks, hikes, and more here. Coliving members can also initiate related events here, or participate in our events at a discounted price.

COLIVING FACILITIES:

• 24/7 coworking hotdesk facilities, (except event days) – kindly keep your laptop away when you’re not using your spot
• Wi-fi Access (100Mbps unlimited)
• Free parking (one carpark in the house porch, and more around the neighbourhood)
• The pantry for coffee/tea making facilities (snacks are also available for sale)
• Shared bathroom with water heater shower for the cold days
• The basic kitchen with basic cooking utensils, shared storage and a shared fridge space for your personal use
• Washing machine & detergents for your laundry needs
• Bills & utilities are all taken care of by us
• Chillout & Reading corner (Use of Games e.g. Poker cards, Uno Cards, Congkak, Jengga, books & magazines!)
• For the essentials, we provide towels, pillows, bed sheets, blankets, toilet papers, shampoos, hair dryer, first aid kid
• A weekly cleaning lady who comes to clean the house (including your room, but it’s optional for you) (cleaning tools are always available if you prefer to do it yourself)
• Occasional meetups/workshops and socializing events
• Group activities with hosts, friends and co-living mates (meal and drinks outing, sports, movies, sight-seeings, hiking, etc)
