Request for Proposals
After a pause in programming, the annual Augusto! Children's Festival is coming back in 2024! The festival will take place from August 9 to August 11, 2024, at the St. Elias Convention Centre in Haines Junction, Yukon. The festival will run from late Friday afternoon until midday on Sunday and focus on art, music and other traditional children's festival activities. This festival is geared towards children ages 12 and under.

A total of 24 one hour workshops are proposed during the festival: 16 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday, for children ages 5 to 12. Workshops will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and between 10:00a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The festival will also continue to have an emphasis on up-cycling, repurposing found objects and transforming waste materials into expressive art explorations and musical instruments.

The Augusto! Children's Festival is now requesting proposals from visual artists to lead one-hour workshops. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for consideration, please complete the application form below.

CRITERIA: The board's decisions will be based on artistic merit, inclusion of First Nations and non First Nations artists, related experience teaching children's workshops and ensuring a variety of art forms are selected. Augusto! Children's Festival has the right to refuse any or all submissions.

Applications will be accepted until 11:59pm on April 30, 2024.
