If your child is rejoining us for in-person learning for 4th quarter, and you would like bus transportation, please submit this form. Please note the following important information before submitting your request form.

Just as we outlined for first semester, due to COVID-19, several changes are necessary for bus transportation this year. These decisions were not arrived at lightly and reflect the need to create as much physical distancing as possible on our buses. We apologize in advance for the challenges these changes create, but it is imperative that we extend our parent transport zones so that we can maximize student safety and minimize ridership.

Parent Transport Zones: While the state minimum requirement for parent transport zones is two miles from school, as a temporary measure for this year, we will set our parent responsibility transport zones at 1 mile from the school for students in grades 5-12 and .5 mile for students in grades K-4. (The distance is measured as the most direct route the bus drives.) Students within that 1 mile or .5 mile radius of our schools will not have bus transportation to or from school this year.

One Stop Morning and Afternoon: To help ensure the same group of students is riding the same bus each day, we are reducing the number of pick-up and drop-off locations for each student. Each student will have one pick-up location in the morning to school and one drop-off location in the afternoon from school. These locations may be the student’s assigned bus stop or a day care provider. There will be no bus passes to ride home to a friend’s house after school.

Like so many of the other necessary adaptations and adjustments for the coming school year, the expansion of the parent transport zones and one-stop protocols require a partnership with families. Students will have assigned seats and siblings at the same school will sit together on the bus. The changes will help us maximize the number of students we can get to school every day on a bus with layers of protection: face masks, hand sanitizing and physical distance. We appreciate your support and understanding.

OPT IN FOR 4th QUARTER BUS TRANSPORTATION

We are asking parents who live outside the parent transport zones and want their child to ride the bus 4th quarter to OPT IN to Solon Schools transportation.

IF YOUR CHILD IS ALREADY RECEIVING BUS TRANSPORTATION AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO MAKE ANY CHANGES, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT THIS FORM. YOUR CHILD'S TRANSPORTATION WILL CONTINUE AS IS FOR 4th QUARTER.  

IF YOU SWITCHED YOUR STUDENT FROM IN-PERSON TO VIRTUAL AT ANY TIME DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER, YOU MUST SUBMIT THIS FORM TO REQUEST TRANSPORTATION FOR 4th QUARTER.
