Intercultural Ministries of the Emmanuel Gospel Center is working with our partner resettlement agency in Boston, the Refugee & Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC), to welcome and support new arrivals from Afghanistan. SHOPPING VOLUNTEERS do a supermarket shop for a family (with a provided gift card) and drop it at their house; or they might take a family to the supermarket or halal market.

NEIGHBORHOOD VOLUNTEERS are people who can visit new arrivals, walk them around their neighborhood to show them important locations & resources, and show them how to use public transit.

APARTMENT SETUP VOLUNTEERS are people who can help make a family's transition to a new home a good one by setting up furniture, cleaning, stocking the fridge, and making it comfortable.
