UWM: Cut ALL ties with “Israel”!

Sign this petition to support SDS’s campaign to demand UWM to cut all ties from “Israel”.

In the past few weeks, the settler colonial state of “Israel” has waged a genocide against the people of Gaza by murdering over 20,000+ innocent civilians, displacing over 1,700,000 people, and destroying over 50,000 houses, 266 schools, 26 hospitals, and many more war crimes. This violence also persists across the West Bank, with over 250 Palestinians murdered since October 7th.

For Palestinians, this did not begin on October 7th, 2023, but has been ongoing for 75 years since the conception of the Zionist settler colony of “Israel” in 1948. “Israel” is able to continue its murder and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians with the aid of the US, UWM being complicit in this. UWM also affirms that “Israel” has the right to exist through its study abroad opportunities to the occupation, whilst millions of Palestinians who have been displaced throughout these 75 years are not allowed the right to return.

Further, the library is named after Golda Meir, who not only assisted in the founding of the settler colony, but was also responsible for the displacement, ethnic cleansing, and death of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. She was quoted stating, “There’s no such thing as Palestinians” in the Sunday Times and Washington Post in June 1969.

SDS demands that UW-Milwaukee:

  1. Cut all ties including divestment from weapon manufacturers that aid the Palestinian genocide in “Israel”

  2. End all study abroad trips to “Israel”

  3. Rename Golda Meir Library
  4. Drop the charges on the Milwaukee 5
