“Nature is doing her best each moment to make us well. Why, nature is but another name for health.” said Henry David Thoreau. Nature with forms of all kinds, the lush mountains or the vast seascapes, has always been proved to provide manifold of psychological and physiological health benefits. However, people nowadays who live in the cities suffer from great stress in high population density areas. Therefore, enhancing contacts with nature becomes an important way to obtain health benefits. In response to the awareness of health problems caused by urban environments, the symposium this year will base on the theme “Natural Landscapes and Health”, and focusing on theories of how nature improves human health and on applying theories to planning strategies, with the aim of helping the landscape architecture adapt to the fast developing technology.

現代人長期處於都市環境的壓力下，接觸自然成為都市居民獲得健康效益的重要管道，而多樣化的自然環境，不論鬱鬱蔥蔥的山林或遼闊的海景皆提供人們不同的生心理健康效益，因此，本研討會將以「自然環境對人的健康效益」為主題，探討自然如何提升健康之相關理論，同時因應時代和科技的進步與發展，研討如何落實規劃實務應用。
