HMP Students
As a member of HMP, I will

Maintain HMP's absence policy that permits a maximum of two absences per semester, and report any absences as far in advance as possible through the HMP website,
www.honorsmusicprogram.com.

Reserve the dates and times in the HMP calendar, including the two chamber music concerts (all students in Chamber Groups), the four performance classes (instrumentalists), the two Solo Recitals, and the Jazz Showcase, and will perform in them.
●
Create a username and password for the HMP website and check for updates on a regular basis.
●
Send any changes of phone numbers or email addresses to
HMPAssistant@rider.edu.
●
Conduct myself in a professional manner with respect for myself, faculty and staff members, and fellow musicians.
●
Complete all assignments in music theory and music history classes.
Performance Students will:
●
Consistently practice for Chamber and Jazz coachings, comprehensively complete all class assignments, and perform in all scheduled performance events.
●
Rehearse at least once a month with assigned chamber partner(s) outside class.
●
Attend a 45- or 60-minute weekly private lesson and work on my assigned chamber music with my private teacher.
Chamber Music only students
I am enrolling in the Honors Music Program’s chamber music class for the 2023-2024 academic year. Since I will be collaborating with other musicians who rely on my presence each week, I understand that I must maintain excellent attendance. I will honor the HMP attendance policy that permits no more than two absences per semester. I will report any absence as far in advance as possible through the HMP website,
www.honorsmusicprogram.com, and personally inform my chamber music teacher.
My parents and I have checked the program calendar and have reserved the dates and times of the HMP chamber music concerts. We have created a website account and password for the HMP website and understand that pertinent information will be relayed through email and the website. We understand that updated email addresses must be conveyed to the program director.
My parents and I will inform my private teacher of my chamber music responsibilities so that they can help me prepare. I understand that my private teacher must approve the choice of my chamber repertoire. I will practice the assigned chamber music repertoire and schedule additional rehearsals with my partner(s) outside of regularly scheduled chamber music coaching sessions.
I will be respectful of my teachers and my fellow musicians. I understand that the success of this program relies on the commitment and enthusiasm of each student.
