The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Grant (ESSER III) is available to school systems that have had a more direct COVID-19 expenses or higher projected costs for learning loss recovery than they will receive under formula funding. The Texas Legislature authorized a portion of the state's discretionary ESSER III funding to pay for unreimbursed costs due to the coronavirus pandemic and for intensive educational supports.

East Chambers ISD wants parent, student, and community comments and suggestions as part of the decision for the best use of these funds for our students. A district committee has determined two possible options. Please choose from one of the following. *

Utilize the funds towards construction costs of upgrading bathroom facilities with more hands free options and more space to better social distancing, classrooms that are larger to better social distancing, and HVAC systems and filters to improve air circulation, filtering, and quality of the air in the classroom.

Utilize the funds to reimburse the district for costs already incurred for COVID related expenses and possible future expenses.
