👉 What is this Learning Clinic for? Organisers put a lot of effort into outreach and training, but often get frustrated when their volunteer base does not grow. In this Learning Clinic, Asaf Bartov will take us through some of the key practices to improve volunteer outreach, training, motivation and retention, based on many years of experience working with different Wikimedia communities around the world. In this interactive session we will also hear from participants and what has worked, or not worked for them in different contexts. Together we can build a tool kit of some good practices that will be useful for the Movement.

👉 What are the Learning outcomes?

Participants will have a better understanding of some of the good practices around volunteer motivation and retention.

Participants will be able to learn from each other about what is working, and not working, for them today to engage volunteers.

👉 What do I need to prepare? 🧠 Use the registration form to reflect on some of the practices you implement today,

but also some of the things you have wanted to implement but need further time/skills to develop.

Come with some ideas of practices that have worked for you and you would like to share,

and also some that you would like to learn more about.

I invite a lot of people to an event/training but they don't show up

People do not continue to participate after the first event/training
