All groups must have a short, staff-led welcome and introduction to the Garden.

For UC Berkeley classes:

Admission to the Garden is free to UC Berkeley faculty, staff and students with ID. UC classes are always welcome to use the Garden for educational purposes, but advanced scheduling is required to ensure that collections are open and we can accommodate your group. To schedule a visit to the Garden, please complete the UCBG Educational Use Request Form below.

For non-UCB classes:

If you wish to use the Garden as part of your class, please complete the UCBG Educational Use Request Form below for free admission approval. We recommend submitting requests at least 4 weeks in advance.

Please note limitations to the Garden's free class admission program:

Classes are permitted to have a maximum of 5 cars park in our lot for weekday visits. Click here for shuttle information and alternative parking options.
We cannot provide free class visits on Tuesdays or on the weekend. Classes coming on the weekend must pay full admission. Admission for groups of 20 or more people must be made by email reservation in advance to guarantee admittance together. Email your date, time, and details to garden@berkeley.edu to make arrangements.

Group visits are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email.

The Garden is conducting a survey to find out what plants in the collection are of particular high interest/use for visiting classes. If you have particular plants that you will be highlighting during your visit, please list them below (e.g. salvias, cinnamon, brassicas, Amorphophallus titanum, etc). Or if you have a prepared plant list document for the field trip, you can email it as an attachment to gardentours@berkeley.edu with the subject line "Plant List for Gratis Visit".
