NASA Middle School Team Interest Form '24 - '25                                                                        
We currently have several openings on our middle school teams. If your homeschooled child has a strong interest in science, math, or other STEM subjects, we want to hear from you. We'll add you to our email list and be in contact with you shortly.  Contact Coach Kimber Thaman with specific questions at nasaatx@gmail.com.

Please note that spaces can fill quickly, and once filled we'll open a Wait List. If you're ready to join now, please see the last question at the bottom of this form to request Registration Dues payment instructions. 
  • Dues for the entire year are $175. Families are responsible for additional misc. costs for study supplies, some competition fees, etc.
  • Dues may be paid any time before mid-August or until all spaces are filled. 
  • Meetings are weekly on Fridays, 1:00 - 3:00 from mid-August through April excluding holidays & Spring Break.
  • NASA has an 80% attendance policy and we ask that you notify us if your child will miss a meeting.
  • There are 4 - 5 competitions between October and March, all on Saturdays. 
  • Our focus is on Science Olympiad. Students are expected to spend several hours per week studying and preparing for their events outside of team meetings, which may include collaborative work with event partners. The more time invested, the greater the team's chances for success.

NASA is a 100% volunteer organization. Parental involvement is necessary for kids to have the best possible experience on the team and to be successful in Science Olympiad competitions. We'll help parents with resources and mentorship to enable you to effectively support your child's efforts as their Parent Coach.  *
