ConsTrained Creation - FREE Creative lab application

This is the application form to take part in the FREE creative lab organized by ConsTrained Creation.

This 2-day creative lab is open to all levels of expertise. Using a newly developed data-driven tool we will dive into the utilisation of constraints to drive your movement creation. This tool is being developed in collaboration with renowned (academic) Dutch institutes on the topics of technology and creativity (including the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, Technical University of Eindhoven, University of Tilburg, and the Asimov Institute) and professional dancers.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
- The lab takes part on 𝟮 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (lab 1 & lab 2), which can either be 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, or during the scheduled live sessions. The live sessions are identical, except there will be a live instruction and possibility for live Q&A. The live sessions will be held May 17th & June 5th (time still to be determined).
- The 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 we will be using is 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, as such there will be intermediate feedback moments on how well the tool is working for you within the lab. These will be short and simple ratings (1-5 star) within the tool itself that will only take a second.
- Due to popular demand we 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, which we will inform you of in due time using the contact information provided.

Using a personality test (how open to experience are you), a creative achievement test (how prone to fantasise are you), and a creative experience test (where do you rank from a novice to professional) we create a Creative Personality profile of you. This profile allows us to compare you to your peers, suggesting you pairs of constraints that worked well for those who are similar to you to create novel movements.

𝗜 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝟭

In Lab 1 we will start using constraints and movement experimentation in order to get you accustomed to the method and gain data on which constraints work well for you.

𝗜𝗜 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝟮

In Lab 2 we will use the information gathered to provide you with intelligently picked constraints. We will contrast our constraint-based meta-creative experimentation with 'regular' experimentation to emphasize the difference. In doing so you will gain further knowledge on how the smart utilisation of constraints can enhance your creation processes.

𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮'𝘀

After finishing the Creative Lab and analysing the results, you will be sent a report of your personal Creative Profile (including interpretation and comparison to your peers) and an infographic on the effects of constraints on creativity and how you can apply meta-creativity in your daily practise.
