Community Loaves is coming to Idaho!
We're a grassroots, home-based baker bread brigade and we're baking up Honey Oat Sandwich Loaves, in support of our overstretched food pantries. We are fully entrenched in the Seattle area and have recently launched operations in Portland. In just under a year, we've rallied over 800 volunteer bakers, drivers, flour packers and donated 18,898 loaves to 14 participating food banks.
Idaho, you're next! I'm ready to invite you to a special information session, Thursday, April 22nd at 3:00 pm. And you are encouraged to invite your friends. Truly, the more the merrier. The information session will run just a little over an hour and is designed to give you all the information you need to hit the ground running.
Who should attend? Anyone who aspires to bake bread and would like to donate that bread to our local food bank partner. We support bakers of all skill level, those who are just getting started to advanced professionals, with lots of videos and mentor coaches to assist you along the way. What matters most is that you have a desire to connect with your local community, a quest to learn or expand your bread baking skills and an interest in providing healthy nutritious calories into the emergency food system. I'm telling you, this is a joy filled project, and we all need joy in our lives!

A local ambassador for the program, Jean Johnson, currently based in Sun Valley has been baking these loaves for several months using locally sourced and milled flour by Hillside Grain. She's an important part of the reason Idaho gets to be next. And together we will host this breader together launch party.
