Suggested workshop ideas include:  Leadership Development; Advocacy Topics; Membership Growth; Health, Wellness, and Child Safety; Family Engagement; and Education Topics.

Leadership Development:  PTA volunteers and leaders work behind the scenes and boots on the ground to provide support to their schools and community.  Proposals submitted should provide participants with leadership skills to assist in efficiently running a PTA unit, how to work with volunteers, conflict resolution skills, understanding Federal and State non-profit regulations, networking, program ideas and more.

Advocacy Topics:  PTA members have historically been strong advocates speaking up for children, families, and public education.  Proposals submitted can cover any hot topic (legislative or informational) from school funding, legislative hot topics, to the ABC's of grassroots lobbying as a non-profit.  Remember that advocacy is not always legislative.

Membership Growth:  A successful PTA embraces diversity and inclusion, and encourages volunteers from every background to reflect the school community.  Proposals submitted can cover membership building, increasing and motivating volunteerism, and more.

Health, Wellness, and Child Safety:  PTAs have always been at the forefront of educating and providing information to help parents keep their children healthy and safe.  Proposals submitted can include information about healthy life-styles, physical and mental health fitness, substance abuse and more.

Family Engagement:  PTA members know how to include families. Transforming family engagement is a shared effort of families, schools and community leaders to advance programs, practices and policies that empower every parent to make their child’s potential a reality is our goal.  Proposals submitted can cover networking/partnership resources, how to become more inclusive, individualized, integrated and impactful, integrated and/or impactful approaches to family engagement in local units and councils, or other ways to sustain family engagement.

Education Topics:  PTAs have traditionally supported public education and educational issues.  Proposals can include information on graduation, standards, early childhood education, special education, and more.
