The purpose of MEDesign is to provide members the opportunity to explore current biomedical devices, learn about uses and limitations, and design improvements or another approach altogether. This education portion encourages discussion amongst members, sparking creative ideas or solutions to current biomedical issues. Additionally, MEDesign incorporates a year-long project to enable members to dive into the engineering process to create a prototype of a decided problem within the medical device landscape with the end goal of creating something useful in the real world. Guest professors/physicians will also join meetings to offer their experience and advice in designing devices to members. Overall, this club will offer members the experience of discussing, designing, and prototyping medical devices.
