IFHOHYP Study Session 2024 'Finding Your Voice!' Application
🌟 Calling all future advocates! 📣 Are you ready to find your voice, share your impactful story, and change the world? It's time to step into the world of human rights, politics, and advocacy 🗣️

The International Federation for Hard of Hearing Young People (IFHOHYP) with the Council of Europe Youth Department will be hosting a Study Session (StS) this year from May 27 - June 1, 2024 at the European Youth Center in Strasbourg, France!

What will the study session include?

Over these 6 days, you’ll explore the fundamentals of advocacy and leadership for young people with hearing loss. Delve deeper into human rights, focusing on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and uncover the dynamics of effective advocacy. You’ll engage in workshops to discover the power of storytelling, the representation of hard of hearing, introduction of artificial intelligence, techniques for advocating yourself through the media, and crafting your profile! 💪👂

You'll have the opportunity to connect with individuals with hearing loss from across the globe! 🌍❤️

How much will it be?

You will be reimbursed for your travel costs.  Board, lodging as well as the working sessions will be paid for. However, 50 euros will be deducted from the amount you are reimbursed to pay for the participant fee.

The StS will be supported by a palantypist (speech to text interpreter).

To apply, please fill out the IFHOHYP StS 2024 application form below.

* Submissions will close Friday 15 March at 24:00 CET.
Accepted applicants will be contacted by email (be sure to check your junk folder)

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age. They must be able to communicate in spoken and written English, and, of course, be hard of hearing.  Since this is financed by the Council of Europe Youth department, priority will be given to applicants from countries that are Member States of the Council of Europe.

Unfortunately, the number of seats are limited for participants from countries that are not Member States of the Council of Europe. We encourage interested applicants to apply promptly. Should a seat become available, other qualified applicants will be placed on waitlist and promptly notified of opportunity to secure the vacant seat.
