Questions for the community survey.

The culture - We live in a world where sexual violence is prevalent and pervasive. It impacts the culture, the communities with live in and the spaces we share. We are conditioned to accept harmful behaviours, narratives and ideas as normal.  This is part of our culture. From the streets, to the clubs to the corridors of power.

Safety and harm - We understand that safety and harm will look different to each person. When we talk about safety and harm we are talking about it in the context of unwanted sexualised behaviour in public spaces with a focus on nighttime economy and dance floors.

Accountability - By accountability we mean the process of understanding the impact of ours and others behaviour and actions. understanding harm, where the behaviour came from and taking active steps to change the behaviour and culture in which it occurs

We are interested in ways to shift the perspective and change the culture. Starting in the spaces we oversee and share. Thank you for being part of this very necessary conversation.

Have you ever experienced feeling free and safe on a dance floor/ in a club? If so - Was there something specific in that space/dance floor that made you feel free and safe?
What makes you feel unsafe/not free on the dance floor/nightlife? How does it impact your experience of going out / life generally?
If you experienced the following (unwanted attention, Crossing boundaries, Unwanted touch, Not listening to consent or Sexual assault) on a night out, would you report it to the venue on the night? If not - what would need to change to encourage you to do so?
How do we hold individuals accountable? What would you like to see happen to those who cause harm? this may mean someone who persistently chats people up to some one caught groping.
What changes would you like to see in shared spaces?
Please tell us any ideas for change
