Thank you for your interest in UmojaHack Africa 2022. First launched in 2020, UmojaHack Africa is the largest inter-university AI hackathon for students across Africa. It is the premier data science event for African university students. Every year over a thousand students from across the continent come together in this virtual event to build machine learning and AI solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. This year’s event (19-20 March 2022) promises to be even bigger than last year: we are aiming to have up to 200 universities involved, with participation from universities in South Africa, Zambia,Tanzania, Rwanda, Mauritius, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, and more. We aim to see up to 2000 students participating on the day.

Students can sign up individually or in teams, and there will be challenges for every level, from beginners to masters. If you would like to host a physical hackathon at your university or simply help us distribute information to your students, please indicate your interest with the form below.
