Our elementary writing curriculum has gone through the review process this school year. After a review of current resources, two new curricular resources were piloted and reviewed by a group of monolingual and dual language teachers. Benchmark Writer's Workshop was recommended to the board during the May Teaching and Learning meeting. At the June T&L meeting, the board will vote on approval of this resource.

If approved by the board/adopted, you will be trained on this new resource during Summer Institute for any teacher that teaches all subjects or is a teacher specializing in Literacy. We are also offering early training opportunities for teachers who would like to be trained prior to Summer Institute. There is a $125 stipend for attending a 3-hour session during the summer. If you choose to attend training this summer, you will be able to sign up for an “Early Adopter” planning session during the required writing curriculum training during Summer Institute.  Summer Institute sign-up will be coming out in the upcoming weeks.
