Band Boosters Committees and Volunteer Positions 2022-23

It takes a village to make the band season successful. We want and need your help!

Please consider volunteering for one or more committees and help us give the best band and color guard experience to our kids! We'd like to have at least one freshman, sophomore, junior and senior parent on each committee.

Even if you can only give an hour or two here or there, every bit helps. We cannot do this without you!

50/50 Raffle

Sell tickets at football games, the craft fair, Seafood Fest, and in front of stores in town as scheduled

Candygrams - A Candygram is a small bag of goodies with a note from you to your child, delivered at each week's competition.

Shop for Candygram contents (candy!) and assembly materials (containers, ribbon, labels, etc.)

Assemble and label Candygrams each week so they're ready for the competition

Chaperone at Games & Competitions - Monitor students when not on field, monitor instruments when students are not present, bring , distribute drinks, carry first aid bag,

Football Game Chaperone (usually Friday nights)

Competition Chaperone (usually Saturdays)

Chaperone at Band Camp (Aug. 8-19, 2022) - shifts are typically 2-hour time blocks with morning, afternoon and evening shifts available

Set up / take down tent (aka the "Chaperone Chateau") at the start / end of each day, maintain water supply for the students, administer minor first aid (think ice packs and band aids), be a runner for Band and Color Guard Directors

Craft Fair and Gift Auction (Set up - Dec 2, 2022, Event - Dec. 3, 2022)

Craft Fair Kitchen - Work the kitchen to prepare and sell food on the event date

Gift Auction Team - Solicit donations from local, regional and national businesses, make up gift baskets

Stocking Stuffers Chair (new position!) - Work in tandem with Gift Auction Chair to solicit small items and gift cards (value $10 and up) and put together small stocking stuffer bags

Bake Sale Coordinator - Recruit parents to bake and bring goods to the sale, oversee bake sale on event day

Event Set Up - Transport gift baskets to auction site, set up auction tables and arrange display of gift baskets, Cover gym floors with heavy paper

Day-of Event Help - Assist as needed throughout the day to sell tickets, monitor tables, assist vendors, distribute prizes, clean up

Birthday Board / Lotto Boards / Dollar Tree - Create the Birthday Board, lotto boards and dollar tree; solicit parents for tickets and singles

Vendor Coordinator- help set up table location for registered vendors, seek out new vendors,

Crew - The "backstage" team that helps the band and guard put on their show.

Set construction (Tue/Thu summer evenings during band rehearsals) - for the handypersons among us!

Set painting (Tue/Thu summer evenings during band rehearsals) - for the artists in our group!

General tasks such as repairing equipment, inflating tires, and organizing the Triangle Room

Load/unload truck before or after away games and competitions, and help get the equipment on/off the field

Transport golf carts to away games and competitions (need a truck with towing capacity that you are willing to use)

Food- Competitions

Set up / clean up food tables, pack up food and drinks, drain/dry coolers after competitions

Food- Football Games

Load coolers and snack cart to serve snacks, drain/dry coolers after the game

Set up snacks and drinks for distribution night before football games

Fundraisers to Benefit Band Program

Band Concert Concession Sales - Bake or purchase baked goods to sell at winter / spring band concerts, set up / clean up concessions table, work table before concert and at intermission

Car Wash - Supervise band members washing cars, collect donations, general help

Clothing Drive - Supervise student volunteers during clothing drop-off and monitor truck loading

Santa Letters - Set up Google form to collect letter requests, share link with family-oriented Facebook groups, create letters from form responses, print and mail letters in time for the holidays

Fundraisers to Benefit Student Trips

Mixed Bag / Boon Supply Sales - Distribute letter explaining Mixed Bag sales, take orders with payments, submit orders, arrange pickup, and track orders by student

Mums Sales - Assist with distribution of mums when they arrive

Media

Work in tandem with Communications Secretary to take pictures and video at band camp, football games and competitions

Band Picnic

Set up / clean up day of picnic, monitor food tables

Contact Point Pleasant Rec Center to reserve pavilion at Riverfront Park

Make centerpieces, work with venue on menu, create program, order favors and gifts

Send out letters to seniors, read scholarship applications, track and tally volunteer hours (**sorry, no senior parents on the scholarship committee)
