“Shule” means school in Swahili, so our students spend their summers engaging education from multiple perspectives with specific sessions in Math, Reading and Writing. Precisely speaking, the primary purpose of Camp Shule is to expand the prior academic knowledge of our campers in order to improve content mastery and academic success in grades Pre K -12 student populations.

Our staff makes it a point to correlate the cultural context that is embedded in the mission of the Nyumburu Cultural Center with the academic outcomes and learning objectives that are implicit in the standards for grades Pre K-12 scholastic improvement that have been nationally articulated and locally integrated.
