We are excited to welcome you to the Ann Reid Home & School Family! We are always looking forward to growing our committees and seeking helping hands to our committee heads. Ann Reid is such a wonderful school and we hope you and your child are benefiting from the amazing teachers and staff.

What is Home & School?
Home & School (H&S) – you’ve heard of the PTA, Booster Club, but what is Home & School? H&S is a group of parent volunteers who work to encourage a partnership among students, parent/guardians and staff to enhance the school experience of each student. We donate our time for various events and activities throughout the year.

Is Home & School a huge commitment?
NO! A lot of people are intimidated to volunteer, but we are all parents. Some working, some stay-at-home and some may have small children. We understand the demands on our time and work to make volunteer opportunities easy. We do our best to limit the amount of evening meetings, try to accommodate schedules as best as possible and a lot of efforts can be managed at home. There are many activities throughout the school year and we need parent volunteers to make these possible.

What volunteer opportunities are available?
There are a variety of ways to become involved. Please scroll below to view a description of the committees. Signing up on this form does not commit you to a particular committee, but helps us identify your interests.

Gift Card Program - Shall be responsible for all aspects of the gift card sales, two times per year.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Coordinator: Shall be responsible for coordinating events with the Principal for American Education Week in the fall, Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring, Custodians Day, Secretary’s Day, Nurses Day, and Principals Day. The district provides a list of all the staff appreciation specific days/week.

Volunteer Coordinator - Shall assist necessary committee chairs and exec board members curate, coordinate, and communicate with event-specific volunteers throughout the year

Translator - Shall assist with translating our weekly newsletters, flyers and social media posts

Spiritwear - Shall be responsible for coordinating spiritwear designs and sales at least twice in the school year

Book Fair - works closely with the LC Coordinator to set up fall and spring book fairs

Social Chair - develops and plans multiple social events for the Ann Reid community throughout the school year

We are looking to build our 2022-2023 exec board. Please select any and all roles you'd like more information on.

President - acts as main liaison between Ann Reid community and the whole district, oversees all committees, attends monthly district meetings, leads monthly H&S meetings

Vice-President - responsible for assisting President and taking the lead on fundraising opportunities

Secretary - keeps communication lines open within school community, takes minutes at the monthly meetings, etc.

Treasurer - responsible for tracking financials and creating budget

Assistant Treasurer (this role is meant for a parent of a child in their first year to assist with and learn the role to then take over the Treasurer position the following school year)
