Which borough do you live in (or plan to live in during the 2023-24 academic year)? We use this information to best pair students with coaches in the same borough. *
If you do not live in the 5 boroughs, please let us know if you'd be able to come to in person debate nights in the spring. *
Are you willing and able to meet with your assigned student(s) 3X before each debate?  (Due to the hybrid nature of the program, meetings may take place via video call, but we strongly encourage that at least 2 of the 3 meetings happen in person.  If in person, meetings should occur at your law school.) *
Are you willing and able to attend the Debates to serve as a judge and support your student?  There are 2 debates per year (3 for students who qualify for a final competition);  regular season debates are on Thursdays, 6-9pm, with Debater of the Year 5-8pm. (Dates of the competition are listed at the beginning of the application.) *
Meetings last approximately 2 hours; they are scheduled at a time that works for you and your student(s). There are approximately 8-12 weeks between each regular debate. If you are not able to commit to meeting with your student(s) 3 times prior to each debate AND attend the debate (unless excused for religious purposes), we cannot accept your application to be a coach.
Are you willing and able to commit to coaching two students (while some coaches may be assigned to 1 student, the standard arrangement will be 2 students per coach.  Coaches will meet with the students simultaneously not individually).   *
Are you a returning coach? *
