2023 Solidarity Share Application
Groundwork Market Garden will provide Solidarity Shares for a limited number of families in 2023. The Solidarity Share is offered at no cost for households experiencing financial hardship and/or food insecurity. *Submitting an application does NOT guarantee a share* Once the application is completed, it will be reviewed and approved based on funds available. Applicants who are approved will receive a store credit which can be used to purchase items available at our weekly farm stand. Our stand opens on Tuesday June 6th from 4-7pm and will be open weekly through the end of October.

NOTE: If applications exceed the amount of funds available, applications will be selected based upon the highest need, with priority going to residents of the 14211 zip code. Only residents of the City of Buffalo will be considered.

*PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU HAVE TRANSPORTATION OR MOBILITY ISSUES* We may have delivery options available for those who have mobility or transportation issues. Please indicate your need on our application form and we will be in touch.

What is your household income level?

Indicate higher on the scale if you: Own the home you live in, have investments, retirement accounts, inherited money, travel recreationally, work part-time by choice, have access to family money and resources in times of need, have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education (or gender and racial privilege, class background, etc.) Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, we ask you to recognize this as a choice.

Indicate lower on the scale if you: Are supporting children or have other dependents, have significant debt, have medical expenses not covered by insurance, have tuition/educational expenses, receive public assistance, have immigration related expenses, are a senior citizen.

This question invites us to reflect on the ways we may or may not hold financial privilege. Take stock and indicate the option that is most reflective of your current situation.

Please "sign" the member commitment by reading the following and selecting "I Agree".
As a member of Groundwork Market Garden Solidarity Share I understand that:
(1) I will have a farm credit that can be used at the farm stand during June-October. I understand that I am able to use that credit as I choose. I understand that if I do not use the full amount, it does not roll over into the following year, but will be used to assist other members of the community who may need it.
(2) There is no option for additional farm store days/times and that Groundwork Market Garden cannot accommodate special requests.
(3) Solidarity Shares are offered at no cost to those who need this service. I have the option to make a contribution to the Good Neighbors Fund, if I choose.
(4) Shares provided will depend on available funds and that by completing this application I am not guaranteed a share.
