Welcome! Thank you for your interest in participating in KYCC's focus group program.
We are currently recruiting Korean/Korean American participants who are willing to be part of a 90 minute, in-person or online (Zoom) group discussion to talk about racism, hate incidents, and the needs of the Korean community for healing, support, and prevention of anti-Asian racism.
Based on the insights we gather from these discussions, KYCC will create and implement initiatives to provide direct support to victims and survivors of hate crimes, as well as prevention and intervention services to strengthen our capacity to combat racism towards the Korean community.
Requirements to Participate
1. You identify as Korean and/or Korean American.
2. You are willing to be part of a group discussion to talk about racism, hate incidents, and the needs of the Korean community for healing, support, and prevention of anti-Asian racism.
(Note: You do NOT have to have personally experienced a hate incident and/or racism to participate)
3. You are at least 18 years old.
Focus Group Details
-The English focus group will be conducted on May 24th (Weds), 10:30am - 12pm.
-The in-person focus group will be held in-person at our main office in Koreatown of Los Angeles: 3727 West 6th St., Suite 402, Los Angeles CA 90020
*Please note that while participants do not need to live in Koreatown, they will need to have access to a means to transportation to and from our office.
-The online focus group will be held via the online platform Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to participants prior to the day of the focus group.
-Participants may also bring along a child, spouse, or other loved one to support them at the focus group (loved one must be at least 18 years old)
-All participants will receive a $20 gift card for their participation in this group.
*The focus group will be audio recorded so that we can best capture what you say, but the audio recording will be permanently destroyed after we have transcribed it. Written transcriptions will not include your name or any personally identifiable information, so no one outside of this group will know who said what, only the content of what you said.
