Schools' expression of interest: We Create the World 2022/23

This form is to express interest for your primary school class to avail of We Create The World - a free arts programme by Graffiti Theatre for 10 DEIS schools in Cork, míle buíochas to the RTÉ Toy Show Fund.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Teachers and their 3rd, 4th, or 5th class groups in DEIS primary schools in Cork City.

The selected classes will need to be able to commit to taking part in ALL elements of the We Create The World programme, which includes:

Participating teachers will partake in a Zoom on September 22.

Each class will:

Listen to a specially recorded audio drama.
Watch an instructional video series on Set Design to inspire pupils to get creative.
Partake in 3 mentoring sessions with established artists to make their own set design boxes.
Complete 10 drama workshops with a professional artist.
Perform and celebrate their work on a specially built theatre set at Graffiti Theatre in Blackpool, in May 2023.
Avail of one scholarship per class group for a student to join our Activate Youth Theatre (beginning in Sept 2023 at Graffiti Theatre in Blackpool).

Do dhaltaí ó Ghaelscoileanna, déanfaimid gach iarracht bualadh leo ina dteanga scoile nuair is féidir: mar sin beidh na ceardlanna drámaíochta á reachtáil trí mheán na Gaeilge agus beimid ag súil le obair dhátheangach/as Gaeilge ó na daltaí.

Attend info teachers Zoom meeting with Graffiti if selected, which outlines programme.

Permit Graffiti facilitators to visit your class to deliver set design and theatre workshops.

Come to Graffiti to perform in May 2023 (transport at school’s own cost).

Recommend 1 student per class group for a scholarship place to our Activate Youth Theatre for the following year. Please note, the scholarship place can be open to any student in your school for which our Youth Theatre age range covers. It does not have to be the class taking part in 'We Create the World.'
