ACTIVITIES of Young, Knowledgeable, & Powerful

1.Community Service Initiatives:
YKPhi will participate in many community service initiatives throughout the year starting in August and spanning through May. The community service initiatives will be planned and executed by the club members with the guidance and supervision of the club sponsors. Some community service initiatives that will be planned include collecting/delivering holiday meals for families, providing toiletries for youth in local foster homes, and collecting toys for local charities.

2.College Readiness and College Tours:
The sponsors of YKPhi will work closely with the guidance department to ensure that all members are on track to graduate. We will expose students to scholarships, help with ACT/SAT preparation, and provide assistance for completing college applications.

YKPhi will take a trip in the fall and the spring to colleges. The trips will be overnight trips and will require a fee. The fees will be based on participation. We do expect that members will go on at least one trip.

3.Career Planning & Career Seminars:
YKPhi members will take a career survey in August. Throughout the year, members will be exposed to career seminars. The purpose of the career seminars is to learn more about the careers and pathways that are needed. Members will have professionals come in and share personal experiences and guidance.
