Brainspotting Phase 1: Attuning to BIPOC Experiences Registration, April 13-15, 2023
Brainspotting Training includes lecture, live demonstration, and dyadic practicums in which participants have the the opportunity to fully experience Brainspotting as a client and practitioner. Due to the highly experiential nature of the training, it is critical that all participants are fully present for the entire training. Training will be held 7:00am - 4:00pm Pacific Time; 9:00am- 6:00pm Central Time each day.

To maximize your training experience, please consider the following:
*Your virtual experience will be best if you area able to use a computer, rather than a tablet or phone.
*Plan to be present for all parts of the training and have a private space for the experiential components.
*Consider all other factors that may impact your ability to be present for the training. Please do not plan to hold meetings over lunch break or other times during the training.
*This training will be presented in English and Zoom generated Closed Captioning will be enabled.

This training is approved by Brainspotting Trainings, LLC and meets the Brainspotting Phase 1 requirement towards Brainspotting certification. Trainers: John R. Edwards, LCSW and Linnea Swanson, Psy.D., M.A., LMFT.

THIS TRAINING IS OPEN TO EVERYONE; BOTH BIPOC AND NON-BIPOC PARTICIPANTS.

This training will endeavor to challenge us to develop authentic and accountable relationships with each other, professional and client, as we strive to engage in anti-racist practices. We hold the belief that white bodied supremacy has impacted all individuals and that most training spaces center dominate culture, including white supremacy, patriarchy, ableism, heteronormativity, neurotypical, cisgender, and Christianity, to name a few. We as clinicians have all been impacted by and carry implicit bias because of white bodied supremacy. Our implicit bias manifests as believing in the model minority, the strong black woman, the laboring Latina, and the appropriation of Indigenous culture. Our hope is that we can all support BIPOC communities and other marginalized experiences as they embark on their journeys of healing and recovery.

While we will be discussing white bodied supremacy and discussing anti-racism practices, this is not a specific training on anti-racism.
