2020 MWAC Session Proposal Information
Request for Proposals: Utah Arts & Museums requests breakout session proposals for the 2020 Mountain West Arts Conference. The conference is a statewide gathering that provides opportunities for innovation, inspiration, networking and professional development.

Conference Audience: The majority of attendees are arts administrators, arts educators, artists, and museum professionals. Generally, people working and volunteering in the cultural sector attend.

Session Requirements: All sessions are 70 minutes long. In the outline description of your session, please include audio/visual requirements, and any planned handouts or materials you will be providing.

Registration: If you are chosen to present, we invite you to join us for the conference at no cost. Utah Arts & Museums will provide an honoraria for breakout session presenters. Presenters should cover all their individual travel expenses.

Policy on Breakout Session Content: The Mountain West Arts Conference sessions are noncommercial. Individuals should refrain from using brand names and endorsing specific products. Under no circumstances should a conference podium be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service, or monetary self-interest. The programming committee has full discretion regarding selection of session proposals for inclusion in the conference. Submitting a session proposal does not guarantee selection.

Proposals are due on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 by 5:00 p.m.

Our programming committee will select sessions that: 1) have clear learning objectives; 2) are as interactive, practical, and skills-based as possible; 3) address topics that participants may not know about or address old topics in a new way; 4) include some time for questions and answers within the allotted time-frame.
