IFME Honor Award Application

Purpose

The purpose of the Illinois Foundation for Marketing Education Honor Award is to provide recognition of marketing education students for their academic excellence, leadership and involvement in DECA.  Recognition of honorees will be given at the Illinois DECA Career Development Conference in Rosemont.

Qualifications

To receive the Illinois Foundation for Marketing Education Honor Award a student must:

1. be a DECA member

2. be a Senior

3. have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.2 for the seven previous semesters (with 4.0 being equal to an A). This submission, by an advisor, verifies the grade point average.

4. participate in at least three of the areas listed under DECA activities, leadership and community/school activities.

EXAMPLES:

Participate in a community/school project: blood drive, food collection drive, meals on wheels, get-out-the-vote campaign, etc

Participate in a social activity for a civic or community service organization: Christmas party for foster children, Thanksgiving baskets for the elderly, etc.

Participate in a community/school business activity: shopping place for kids, Santa’s arrival, Easter egg hunt, etc.

Participate in developing a display, parade float, or exhibit for a community/school activity
