At KWIC, our work in the community depends on the skills and enthusiasm of a dedicated group of volunteers, like you! Volunteering with KWIC allows you to engage in your passions, enhance your learning – and resume, while contributing in meaningful way to our community.

KWIC is committed to working from participatory, anti-oppression, anti-racism, decolonizing, and feminist frameworks. We encourage all volunteers to deepen their understanding and practice of these issues with us.

Listed below are some ways in which KWIC is supported by volunteers. Do you have a skillset not represented on this list that you’d like to bring to our organization? Let us know, we’d love to hear your ideas! Please put a check beside what interests you to tell us how you might like to get involved, and we will use this as a guide for a follow-up discussion. No previous experience is necessary, just a passion and willingness to learn!

KWIC EYE Centre

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the KWIC EYE Centre - greet visitors, give tours of the space, assist with the borrowing and returning of materials, and support with keeping the space tidy

Student Outreach - tabling and/or classroom presentations

Marketing, Promotions, and Communications

Assist with Canva graphic design creations

Assist with content creation for social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Tik Tok, and X)

Assist with poster creation for programs and events + other marketing tasks

Assist with website updates

Outreach

Overseeing and updating KWIC's Social and Climate Justice Calendar

Newsletter Support - compiling events and information

Assisting with distribution of printed materials such as posters
