Our internship program takes place both in the U.S. and abroad.  In San Francisco, internships focus on supporting our research, communications and grants development goals that are an introduction into the inner workings of a nonprofit organization.  

Our internships abroad are an introduction to rural development philosophy and practice.  Interns live with homestay families and work side by side with local communities, supported by our local program staff.  Due to the current pandemic, internships will take place virtually through fall 2023.

Current status of our Internship program during COVID 19
Our current plan for 2021 is to plan for our Internship program to take place remotely while keeping watch on how the pandemic situation develops in the U.S. and in our destination countries. We will keep everyone updated throughout the year on developments as they happen that affect our ability to offer our program. Important thresholds anticipated at this time will include the efficacy of the distribution of vaccines in the U.S. and abroad. The availability of airline service to and from our destination countries. And policies imposed, changed, or lifted regarding travel between the U.S. and our destination countries.
