In 2019, I joined back in BUET completing my PhD. Afterwards, a student of my Department, Abrar Fahad, was brutally murdered by his own fellow students through bullying (Innalillahi wa Innalillahi Rajiun). The event deeply shocked me, and I tried my best ever since to stop any incidences of bullying that came to my notice. I have two advisees under me who share the same name with the murder victim and they always reminds me of the tragic incident. I never met Abrar Fahad’s murderers, but know for a fact that they were also BUET students, who probably never reflected upon their actions while torturing a victim. Maybe, if they stopped and reflected upon their actions, we wouldn’t have had the culture of harassment and Abrar would have still be alive today.
The goal of this questionnaire is to make everyone think at least for once, about the emotional and psychological impact of bullying on a victim. If you were a victim of group-bullying/mobbing, I am truly sorry for your sufferings, and you may also share your story with me. This questionnaire does not accuse anyone of anything, and simply for understanding group bullying for research purpose. Many of the students have already answered the questions nicely and I have got some useful insights to the bullying problem in general.
The following are some resources on mobbing:
