Session Description and Speaker Bio

Financial Literacy Curriculum for Educators: What’s a budget? How do banks work? How do I talk to students about money? How do we grow financial literacy in our province’s youth? With Financial Literacy being mandated into several curriculum areas in Ontario, a good grasp on pedagogy is more critical than ever. Explore tips and tricks from a fellow student-teacher, and discover the who, what, how and why of financial literacy education!

This session will be presented by our very own Willem Hart, who is a 2nd year teacher candidate in the UWO Faculty of Education, certifying at the I/S level. His subjects are history and social sciences, and the speaker also pursued a teachable in business studies during the summer. Areas of interest: career studies, citizenship education and social history.
