Volunteer Opportunities
The following is a list of volunteer opportunities.  We will not assign roles until after the initial trainings, so if you want to change your preference, you may let us know and we will try to accommodate your request.  Volunteer opportunities include:

A. Officials Team Volunteers - Help to judge the Bowl and facilitate the team competition rooms. Roles include: moderators, science judges,  timekeepers*, rules judges, scorekeepers*, and room runners*.  Please note, competition officials are required to attend at least two trainings, and a team practice session prior to the event and be available for the entirety of the competition day.
*indicates Officials Team roles that are best for first-time volunteers

B. General/Logistics Volunteers – Day-of event support. Registration & check-in for teams and volunteers, assisting with food set-up and clean-up, monitoring hallways and competition buildings, and post-event take down and clean-up. These roles are typically assigned in partial-day shifts. General volunteers are welcome but not required to attend training sessions.

C. Team Mentor – Sometimes teams request content/training support, especially if they are a new team. This role would be coordinated with the team itself, but might involve after school visits with team at their campus, over-email support, etc. If you work with a team, you are then officially associated with the team and forfeit your ability to volunteer at the competition as a competition official or general volunteer.
