General information - please read carefully!
We are thrilled to announce that Hartley Boats have offered us a new Mark 4 cruising boat for the week. This excellent boat will be available to try out for all interested attendees.

The "Gathering" is a 'Sailing in Company' event as outlined in the 'Advice for Cruisers' documentation available through the UKWA (see the website for more details: https://wayfarer.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/UKWA-Advice-for-Cruisers-2018.pdf).

We are therefore, offering an open invitation to Association members to join us for cruising and day-sailing activities. As such, each participating boat sails under the sole responsibility of its helm and should be familiar with the UKWA 'Advice for Cruisers'.

Helms will decide where and whether to sail on each day and accept full responsibility for their boats and crew. There will be a daily briefing or a daily bulletin that will help to assist helms with differing experience with decision making.

We arrive on the Monday and depart on Saturday. There are a range of accommodation types available including a limited number of beds in shared bunk houses and family rooms. If you would like one of these, we recommend early booking.

Most of the Gatherers are likely to be camping in the field behind the sailing club. We are pleased to be able to invite motorhomes, camper vans and tents to this event and we will endeavour to keep everyone together in one area. The Club is close by for all shower and toilet facilities, please be aware that there are no facilities in the camping field itself. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the camping field, but not in the sailing club.

There will be other children and families using the sailing club, but this is likely to enhance rather than detract from the overall experience.

Rutland Water is owned by Anglian Water, as such outboard use is not permitted, so we will have a patrol boat available as necessary.

As our event planning develops in these slightly more complex times, we will update you with further information :)

Some Gatherers like a bit of a sing-along. Do you play an instrument? Tell us about it here. Or, if there are any great Wayfaring songs you'd like to add to our playlist, add them here and we'll try to find the music for them.
To celebrate our first event at Rutland Water, Hartley Boats are giving every attending boat a free bottle of wine. Would you prefer: *

We will review your booking and get back to you with cost confirmations as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us within 2 weeks, please email family-sailing@wayfarer.org.uk - we are very busy people and sometimes things get missed. It's not personal, it's us!
