We appreciate our volunteers, thank you! As a dedicated volunteer at West Springfield Elementary School, I understand that I am bound by the same professional standards of confidentiality as all other school personnel.

Confidentiality maintains the privacy and safety of our staff and students. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) outline what information may be released and to whom. Confidential information can include but is not limited to contact information, transcripts, enrollment, grades/evaluations, medical, student behavior/discipline, special education, due process, activities, legal, immigration status, etc.

I also understand that all information I may obtain while volunteering, directly or indirectly, pertaining to West Springfield Elementary, its staff and students, is confidential, and I will not disclose or discuss such information.

I further understand that my role in the classroom is to support the teacher and students and not for teacher conferences, discussing my child and/or children in the classroom nor general community conversations.
