Vendor Application: Southside BIPOC Farmers Market
Thank you for your interest in vending with the Southside BIPOC Farmers Market for the 2024 season!

Our market runs monthly May 5th - October 6st on first Sundays from 12-3 PM. Markets will be located in the parking lot of the Arthur R. Edington Center, 133 Livingston St, Asheville.

We are a local neighborhood market run by Southside Community Farm, serving the Southside neighborhood and the greater Asheville community. We will accept SNAP/EBT, Double SNAP for fruits and vegetables, and Farm Fresh Produce Prescriptions through the 2024 season. This year, we have space for 18-20 vendors per market day.

BIPOC Farmers Market at New Belgium Brewing
Southside Community Farm will collaborate with New Belgium to host 2 additional BIPOC Farmers Markets at New Belgium Brewing, 21 Craven St, Asheville, NC. The New Belgium markets will be from 1-4 PM on July 21 and December 1. Southside Community Farm will not be offering a vendor stipend for these 2 markets. More information about these markets will be available closer to the dates, but mark your calendars if you are interested in vending!

Vendor Compensation
This year, Southside BIPOC Farmers Market is offering vendors a flat fee of $75 per market for their participation. Vendors will be payed by check at the end of each market they attend. Please let us know how we can pay you for being a vendor at the market. Accepting a vendor stipend is not required; you are welcome to forgo your stipend, in which case the money will be used to support the market and other farm programming.

Market participants agree to locally grow the produce, herbs, or plants or to personally make, bake, prepare, or hand craft the items they are selling and have the necessary state and federal certification for their products. All participants agree to mutually respect each other and to work together to develop a spirit of community and cooperation. As such, all participants agree to be aware of what others are selling and to agree and understand that part of a successful market is variety, consistent, appropriate pricing and community spirit.

All participants of the market agree to provide their own displays and any necessary equipment (tables, chairs, tents, etc.). Participants also agree to be responsible for the set up and take down of their displays, as well as helping to maintain the cleanliness of the Arthur R. Edington Center parking lot where the market is located.

All participants will adhere to food safety compliance and/or any regulations pertaining to their products.

All participants agree to be responsible for any liability issues that may arise as a result of the action or inaction of the individual market participant, or the product(s) sold by that participant and agree to exonerate, hold harmless, indemnify and defend Southside Community Farm, its successors and assigns, from and against any and all losses, damages, claims, suits or actions, judgments and costs, and attorney fees which may arise or grow out of any injury or death of persons or damage of property in any manner connected with the vendors products, operations, or vending at the market.

All participants agree that in the spirit of a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Farmers Market, each participating business must be at least 50% BIPOC-owned and that there must always be at least one BIPOC representative of the business at the market in order for the business to vend.

This market accepts SNAP/EBT and Fresh Bucks. All participants agree to accept SNAP/EBT and Fresh Bucks ONLY for appropriate food items and to follow the market's regulations, which will be shared at every market event.
