What is PSIA? With
19 contest categories covering a wide range of disciplines, PSIA
(Private Schools Interscholastic Association) is an exciting opportunity
for private and home school students to engage in academic competition
with their peers throughout the state of Texas. PSIA sponsors academic
and fine arts competitions similar to UIL for students in grades 1
through 8. You can learn more about PSIA on our website at

ISI will conduct a preliminary
selection test, called the Interscholastic Prep Competition or IPC, to
determine the eligible ISI and Tanzeel students for the PSIA competition. Testing will
be conducted in the month of November, in sha Allah.
Parents
MUST hold at least one position of judging or proctoring on the day of
the exam, which is set for November 5th, from 8am-5pm. Volunteering by
parents is the only way PSIA competitions are possible. ISI PTO will
attempt to accommodate coaching for students in each category, however
we do not guarantee it, as we depend on you the parents to volunteer to
be the coaches.
Coaching will be approximately
once a week, during the month of October. In the case a coach is not
provided, parents may access prior tests in their categories from
www.islamicschoolofirving.org/psia under the resources link, for
preparation at home.

The PSIA District competition is set for March 25, 2023 at Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton, in sha Allah.
The PSIA State competition is tentatively set for April 29, 2023 at the Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, in sha Allah.
Please
make sure that the email submitted is an email you check often before
moving forward with the form. Also, please make sure the number given is
a WhatsApp accessible phone number, as you will be receiving important
communication through Whatsapp. If you would like to be a coach, please
make sure to fill out the coach form found on ISI's PSIA web page.
