Views on Language II
You are being invited to take part in this research study by Singapore Dialects (Instagram: @singaporedialects), a nonprofit educational organisation. Before you decide whether to take part, it is important for you to read the following so you understand why the study is being carried out and what it will involve. It will help you decide whether or not you would like to take part.

This study aims to examine the correlations between attitudes towards language use, scores on Simon Baron-Cohen's EQ and SQ, and political leaning.

There is no particular discomfort or risk you will encounter, beyond that in daily life, by taking part in this study. However, since this study examines topics related to offensive use of language, it is acknowledged that some participants may experience some uneasiness, therefore every participant will be provided with information on contact details relevant to support services. There are no added benefits to taking part in this study, however your participation will help in finding results in this research project by Singapore Dialects.

This survey consists of three sections. 

1. Views on language: You will read statements about language that you must rate on the scale of (1) Strongly Disagree, (2) Disagree, (3) Agree, (4) Strongly Agree. Read them carefully and try to answer as honestly as possible, based on how you actually treat and understand language. 

2. Political leaning: There is one question on your political leaning. 

3. E-S Quotient:  Read each statement very carefully and rate how strongly you agree or disagree, on the scale of (1) Strongly Disagree, (2) Disagree, (3) Agree, (4) Strongly Agree, by selecting the appropriate option.

Your participation in this questionnaire is strictly voluntary. Your answers will be recorded anonymously and distributed as such to be used for research.
