Youth Program: Designed for students ages 8-14, this program will run for 4 weeks beginning on Tuesday, June 6. Rehearsals will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 until 7:30 pm until performances the weekend of July 1st. Tech week attendance and performances (June 27-July 2) are mandatory in order to be considered for this positions.

Young Adult Program: Designed for students ages 15-18, this program will run for 4 weeks beginning on Tuesday, June 6. Rehearsals will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm until performances the weekend of July 1st. Tech week attendance and performances (June 27-July 2) are mandatory in order to be considered for this positions.

During rehearsals, students will work to meet individual goals that are set by Instructors at the start of the program. The purpose of this 6 week program is to provide students with autism and other differing abilities an opportunity to interact with peers in a safe, accommodating, and flexible environment. Participants will focus on social, behavior, and communication skills. Many of our participants have varying levels of needs, and BCT makes every effort to accommodate each child’s preferences, interests, needs, and strengths.

Instructors will be responsible for creating lesson plans, preparing materials, and leading rehearsals that focus on the target goals for each student. Instructors should arrive in a timely manner and be able to assist individual students when they are not leading. There will be two mandatory training sessions for all Instructors and Volunteers, date and times TBA in addition to the Parent Meeting on Monday, June 1st.

Instructors/Independent Contractors will be allotted a stipend at the completion of the summer program. All volunteers and staff working with Brighter Connections Theatre who are 18 years or older must: 1)Complete a background check in the state of Ohio prior to the start of rehearsals (you will be compensated for the cost) 2)Sign a media release form and sexual misconduct policy 3)Attend all training dates 4)Be available for tech week, dress rehearsal, and performances (July 6-12) 5)Co-write rehearsal lesson plans with the co-director. 6)Please sign below if you agree to the responsibilities listed above.
