Spring '23 Volunteer Sign Up Form - Events for Admitted Honors Students

Volunteer for Events for Admitted Honors Students!

Husky-For-Day & Honors Receptions* provide prospective students the opportunity to tour the UConn Storrs** campus and to see various aspects of the undergraduate experience such as: observe an academic class, visit a residence hall, and enjoy lunch in a dining hall. You will be their guide and answer questions these student visitors will be sure to have.

At the close of the day, Dr. Lease Butts invites you to end your day with the Honors Program community at the Honors Reception for prospective students and their family members. Cookies and refreshments will be served!

***Husky-for-a-Day sign-ups are only being accepted on a case-by-case at this time.*** If you are interested in the Husky-for-a-Day opportunity, you must attend a mandatory training session offered by the Lodewick Visitors Center. If you did not attend one of these training sessions held prior to Spring Break, please contact uconnhips@gmail.com for an alternative training session option.

Volunteer to be an Honors Ambassador for UConn Bound Honors Program Family Welcome Events!*

The UConn Bound Honors Program Family Welcome Events**

These events allow admitted first-year students who have been invited to join the Honors Program at UConn Storrs, along with their family members, to mingle and chat with current Honors students in the Jorgensen Auditorium for the Performing Arts. The program will begin with Dr. Lease Butts presenting an overview of the Honors Program, followed by Honors student representatives sharing their experiences. The event concludes with a question-and-answer session. Then you will mingle and talk with prospective students and their family members after the formal schedule ends. At this event, all Honors Ambassadors will wear the same mint green t-shirt, which will be provided.

UConn Bound Honors Family Welcome Events:

Saturday, April 1 from 1:30 - 3:30 PM
Saturday, April 15 from 1:30 - 3:30 PM

***MANDATORY TRAINING*** - Before you volunteer for any of the above events, you must attend an Honors-specific training session or watch this recording of a training session: https://uconn-cmr.webex.com/recordingservice/sites/uconn-cmr/recording/a005fabfaf10103bbfff00505681ae70/playback
