Students and teachers at McKinley School will be launching a No Idling campaign to improve the quality of air around our school. As part of this campaign, we will be establishing a “No Idling Zone” to improve air quality and create a healthier environment for students, teachers and parents. This zone is an area where all vehicle owners are asked to turn their engines off while they wait.
The emissions that come from vehicle exhausts are harmful for everyone, especially children who breathe more and at a faster rate than adults. Vehicle exhaust in our air contains many pollutants that are linked to asthma and other lung diseases, allergies, heart disease, cancer and other health problems.
Please support McKinley’s No Idling Campaign and turn off your car while waiting to drop off or pick up students. Together, we can make a real difference and improve the quality of air we all breathe.
