There is no one way to learn. As faculty and staff working with a diverse student population, finding flexible approaches to course design and communications with students can reduce barriers to instruction, facilitate the learning process, engage our learners, and help us better support our students in their diverse learning needs.
Sponsored by the ILS Program of the Future initiative, you are invited to join Lori Cooney and Nancy Hurley, education and universal design specialists from UMass Boston for a 2-hour workshop to discuss universal design. “This workshop will introduce higher education faculty and staff to Universal Design for Learning (UDL) with a focus on the four key principles: curriculum, instruction, assessment and environment. Participants will leave with practical UDL strategies and multiple resources to support diverse learners and improve teaching and learning. *Participants are encouraged to bring a mobile device to this interactive and engaging session.”
Participant Outcomes:
• Identify universal design strategies to diversify curriculum, instruction and assessment.
• Identify a minimum of 5 technology tools for student success (e.g., Any.do, Nearpod).
Looking forward to meeting you!
