Register your interest in the Research Software Camp Software Surgery
As part of our Research Software Camp: Next steps in coding the Software Sustainability Institute will be running a free Software Surgery which aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for people to get advice on their research software challenges.

The software surgery will run throughout the two weeks of the Camp from 16 to 27 May 2022 in allocated 20 minute-slots. It will be open to anyone looking to get expert advice on any aspect of software development from a Research Software Engineer (RSE). This could be a general question on how to approach a particular development challenge, or how to decide which infrastructure or technologies to use for a given situation, or perhaps a specific issue with a particular technology.

During the surgery the RSE has a focused discussion with the attendee to identify a small number of key challenges they are having with their research software. The RSE provides a rough "diagnosis" of the underlying causes behind the challenge(s) and discusses initial steps to improve the situation e.g. a new practice or technology, and how to apply it. Register your interest for a 20-minute slot with an RSE in this form.
