Southwestern Wisconsin is an area with 20 school districts at varying levels of implementing Sources of Strength Secondary and Elementary. Because the foundational tools of Sources of Strength Elementary and Secondary are impacting how we talk about and practice mental health, we have successfully taken the next steps in the continuum of school-based mental health planning.
With the smart brain and persistent leadership of Mrs. Adrienne Udelhoven, LPC & School Counselor, Connect Strength is ready to share the Sourcified Mental Health Screening process with others. Adapted from the incredible work of Lindsey Bruins, Fond du Lac Schools Social Worker, and the team of Fond du Lac YScreen, the Sourcified Mental Health Screening process is an exemplary model and navigation to bridging clinical mental health into educational systems at a universal level and with the flexibility of being virtual or hybrid.
In Spring and Summer of 2020, the model received guidance from Roger's Behavioral Health and Fond du Lac YScreen establish the process for implementation of in-person, virtual and hybrid. Because of the collaboration, two school districts in southwestern Wisconsin delivered virtual and hybrid Sourcified Mental Health Screening throughout the 2020-21 school year. Over the past 5-year project and because of the persistent colleagues, we would like to share and continue collaboration to increase access for Sourcified Mental Health Screening as part of school-based mental wellness strategies.
