Integrated Studies Inquiry Form
The Integrated Studies (IS) Program at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is currently in it's pilot year and has opened admission for Fall 2024. The IS Program is designed as a postsecondary non-credit certificate curriculum for students with intellectual disability. The program is intended for those who have completed their high school experience (with a certificate or diploma) and now wish to pursue extended learning opportunities through higher education.

In order to be considered for admission into SJC’s Integrated Studies Program, each applicant must meet the following criteria:
  • Be at least age 18 at the start of the program;
  • Have a documented diagnosis of intellectual disability; Primary disability must be cognitive, not behavioral or emotional;
  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing higher education at SJC and gaining meaningful employment;
  • Have exited high school or a secondary institution with one of the following: diploma, GED, special education, or certificate;
  • Supported decision-making or self-guardian preferred;
  • Enrolled in Community Case Management/supports coordination/OVR/waiver at the start of the program.
